hello everybody. My name is Jimmy. It's nice to meet you. My clarinet is taking forever to ship. The company overall has great reviews but all the bad ones talk about it's slow shipping so im scared.
Anyways, what are some exercises to work on your endurance(play long in one breath)? Is there such things as diaphragm workouts? I know there are probably many exercises on this board but i don't know how to find it. So you can either answer my question or post some threads.
Thx.

The trumpeter Rafael Mendez said to swim underwater and keep adding one more measure when you practice, then another and another in one breath.

It's probably more productive to work on making your tone production as efficient as possible - good embouchure control, no air leaks, no wasted air in the sound, use responsive equipment, etc... Breath control itself is important, and really good tone production is difficult or impossible without it, but they have to work together and producing long phrases isn't possible if you're wasting air anywhere in the process.
If you can stand the boredom, you can practice long tones within view of a clock with a second hand - it will at least give you an idea of your progress as you develop the control that's needed.

That's why I would never send, or recommend anyone else to send, their clarinet out for repair or overhaul. First of all, you lose control over how long it's going to take, but also, you can't play test it once it's done until you get it back and then if you are not 100% satisfied you're out of luck because you have to send it back. That goes even for the best of them in my opinion, but that's just me.
You might find some exercises on the clarinet page on my website. ESP
