I have been given a vintage Selmer Paris clarinet, serial # K5235. The Selmer logo is the usual, later, Henri Selmer with a laurel wreath around it. In looking at the serial number listings on Sneezy and elsewhere, the Selmer serial numbers starting with a letter all start with L, dating to 1931 and then go on through the alphabet. Where do I place a serial with a K at the beginning? I am assuming it dates to about 1930 and that seems about right from the limited information I received from the previous owner. Can anyone direct me to a Selmer serial number list that would have this K series dated? Thanks.

You may try calling Selmer in Elkhart, IN and ask them to help you. Try 219-264-1700.

I used to date a Selmer clarinet, but then she dumped me to marry a Leblanc with more money. At least she invited me to the wedding Buffet!
