Here's a link to my composer's page at the American Music Center. At the site, click on the Compositions tab, and scroll down to the Buzzards in Love entry to find the MP3 and PDF file.

This piece is dedicated to Charlie Mariano (I had the good fortune to study with Charlie) who passed on several months ago. In memory of Charlie, the piece is being made free-of-charge to any band interested in it. The piece could also be performed by a large jazz ensemble with additional woodwinds and brass.
There are several things in the score that were not possible to include in the mp3 file: the free-time improv section and where two soloists improvise over an ensemble vamp toward the end. Also, for some reason, the tuba gliss going into the last two chords did not come out. Nevertheless, the mp3 file should give you a sense of the music.
For those who have already requested the music, I'll start to mail the score & parts next week.
The parts come with an optional alto clarinet part that covers the alto flute part for those bands that do not have an alto flute.
Best Regards, Roger Aldridge

Your set of parts and score just arrived. I'll pass it out Sunday afternoon for a run through--too late, however, to program it for our upcoming concert on the 18th. Depending on our conductor--no idea is good unless it is "his"--we may be able to include it on our next performance. Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[have you considered writting a work for the bass clarinet??]
