Very close facing, very reed friendly, just right with V-12 #4 reeds, for me. It is my next-to-favorite mouthpiece, second only to a handmade Greg Smith. Really, for the price, it is great.

The new issue of The Clarinet (Magazine) Sept. 2009 has nice article on Clark Fobes and his mouthpiece design.

Clark hand faces and adjusts his mouthpieces for great playing characteristics. They have great response and are even across the range with a wonderfully centered ringing sound. Tuning is superb. They are very reed friendly and comfortable blowing. I cannot say enough good about them. In many ways they retain but improve on the qualities found in the fine vintage mouthpieces.
There are many different facing to choose from to match your taste and style of playing. If you were to contact Clark with what you are looking for, he is always helpful and quick to respond.
FWIW-I like the CF+

His are very good mouthpieces but the only way you'll know if it's the best one for you is to try it. What works great for one person can be a disaster for another. Get a few different MP on a trail basis from one of the mail order stores and keep doing that until you find one with your name on it. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

I ordered the 4L facing which as 1.12 mm. If anyone would like to do me a favor, could some tell me if this is similar to the Selmer C85 120 MP? I am not sure if the 120 is the facing...i generally prefer more open mouthpieces, and the 4L was the biggest facing for that kind.

Best answer to your question would come from Mr. Fobes, himself. Send him an e-mail.

A lot of people like them. I personally, don't. But that doesn't mean it won't be GREAT for you.
As far as mouthpieces are concerned, I don't think there's one "PERFECT" mouthpiece for you. But I do believe that there are a LOT of great mouthpieces that you would really like. Clark Fobes certainly has a following and reputation for mouthpieces that makes it worth checking out.
Enjoy the searching.

Clark is a good friend. I highly recommend his MP and all his products. He's very accessible on his website or by phone.
I use his MPs at WICKED on B'way and all my recording work in NYC, so you'll just need to find the right one for you. I use Clark's 2L on my Bb & A Clarinets. He even has an inexpensive line of student MPs that are quite good...look for the "DEBUT" on his site:

Good luck with your search.

I use a Clark Fobes Cicero 14 with a Backun Morales cocobolo barrel on my
Selmer Signatures and I love the combination.
Works great for me

The Fobes Debut is a fantastic mouthpiece, Sounds great, tunes well. You might be able to sound better on something more exotic and expensive but it won't much better and it will be alot more money. I have a fobes debut on my synthetic Bliss clarinet for teaching, I get tired of my students thinking the reason I sound good is box full of custom Backun stuff, the Fobes-Bliss combo is well under $1k and sounds great. It stays in my car, I use it on gigs all the time. I should probably buy a San francisco that is more like the facing I normally play 1.03 tip and 36-38 length. But the Nova is your basic Matson facing mouthpiece that plays as well as any of the refaced Selmers that Matson did for me over the years. If you can't sound good on one of these, it's not the mouthpiece.
