Bruno WWI, BI fl New York 1834-p1950.

MI importers, dealers. Established by Charles Bruno (b ?Saxony c1800; d Brooklyn March 1884); 1868 joined by his son Charles (b 1838) as 'C. Bruno & Son'; 1900/20 incorporated, by which time the firm's trade name had been replaced on instruments by new proprietary names, 'Lafayette, Paris', Perfackton', 'Perfection', 'Henry Pourcelle, Paris', 'La Vesta', 'Vocotone' being the most common import labels. Active since 1834, the firm may be considered the longest enduring venture in American musical merchandising.
