 Marigaux Clarinet

I have seen a lot of queries here about the Marigaux clarinet and I was wondering if anyone can help me get more information on the one that I have.

I purchased it a few years ago when I wanted to upgrade and really purchased it on a whim not knowing a great deal about it but it fit me well and plays with a beautifully rich tone.

The clarinet is stamped in gold with a crown with the following below it encased in a circle:

King
Marigaux
Paris
France
T

The number 731 is etched in the back.

I am look for any pointers of where I might get more information, an approximate age, an idea of the level the instrument was initially pitched at.

I would also appreciate any suggested valuers in the UK who might know of the model and give me an idea of its worth for insurance.

Thanks

Elayna

Thank you for the links! Having looked over the instrument again I have found the model is the 355. 731 would appear to be the serial number.

My clarinet looks so much like the picture you posted. Mine does have an SML mouthpiece, although I don't know if it is the original.

I am a little concerned I may have paid too much for it considering the amounts mentioned in the latter thread link.

The market value or street price is just a snapshot of the current situation. People might go into bidding wars over an ordinary R13 because that's the only brand and model they know, and pay little attention to other, just as good if not better, instruments.
Yours looks to be in excellent condition.
