What do you think of the new Vintage models? I am looking for a Bb/A set and am greatly considering one of a newer model. The old ones are just to hard to manage it seems. Love the sound though.
What stores seem to have the best prices/payment options, etc.? Thanks!

I bought a new Vintage Bb about a year ago at Best Buy in Oakland. Their prices are the same as other places. I don't think that stores can undersell the new Buffet, at least that is my understanding. Only if you would by a used one, would you be able to negotiate a price. I am so glad that I bought it, as a retirement present for myself.

There isn't any such thing as a best buy for Buffets anymore. Buffet has a strangle hold on their retailers and won't allow them to make any discounts. In the past WWBW would reduce the retail price at least $1,000 from the Buffet so called list price.
The only hope is that buyers will shun the Buffet price goughers....
Selmers are as good, if not better than Buffets and the Yamaha CSGs are better than the Buffet best.

Go to Muncy Winds in Boone. They have a good trial policy. It's not that long of a drive from your area either. I'm a student in Charlotte and they treat you amazing. Just contact them ahead of time and make a good appointment.

There are several denizens of this BB who offer decent prices, pre-selected instruments, pre-setups, etc. Others are "retailers" who have good reputations.
check them out....or email me offline for suggestions.

I second the Muncy suggestion from SV. I bought a new Vintage about 3 years ago. They met price (WWBW was lower at the time); provided many clarinets to try (I was looking at Selmer and LaBlanc also); and finally provided me with a fine Vintage model set up properly.

Buster Brown writes; (WWBW was lower at the time.) Yes it was over $1,000 lower than the "suggested retail price.) The Vintage list and reail price was forced up more that $1,000 over night by the Bufffet Co.
I bought a Vintage about three years ago for $2,600 and remember the price going up $1,000 plus over night.
