Would anyone know the name of an association in the U.S. for high school band directors?
I'm trying to locate our high school band teacher in Ohio from 1975. The class yearbook shows his last name and picture, that's all. In those days we didn't pay attention to first names. This is a very likely an impossible goal to find him now.
Perhaps there's a better way of locating a former teacher?

I'm sure there are specific pedagogical one's, but you could try WASBE, The World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles.

Why not try and contact the school? At the very least, you might get a first name.

You might also try the school alumni association, if there is one. Sometimes they even have websites, and you can post a question there. What HS was it in Ohio? Actually, in Ohio, there is an association called the Ohio Music Education Association, which is an umbrella organization for all HS instrumental and vocal groups. Here is their site: https://www.omea-ohio2.org/Default.html

Thanks! I dropped them a note to see what happens.
This teacher was Mr. Moore, at Jefferson Area High School. His wife was a clarinetist who gave me a few lessons, so coming to think of it perhaps she's lurking on this BB!
According to the current high school principal the school doesn't have any records that go back that far.
