 Buffet Evette Clarinet
Author: hydrahlw

Hello,
I recently acquired a Buffet Evette Clarinet, made in France with a serial number of D1521. I know this was a step up from the E-11, but before they were using the E 11/12 model name. Does anyone know the approximate age of this instrument?

Not a step up. The Evette had its production shifted to Germany in the late 1970s and its name changed to E11 in the early 1980s. A search engine available at one time on the Buffet website but no longer there returned a date of 1960 for D1. Assuming that date is correct for introduction of the D-series Evettes, yours was probably made between 1960-1963.

Best regards,
jnk
