Have any of you either tried this mouthpiece or do you have students who use them ?
If so, can you tell me a little about them. I looked at Mr. Behn's website but it does not say very much.
I usually start my students on the Fobes, Hite or Genussa student mouthpieces but I am always looking for reasonably priced but still excellent equipment for beginning and intermediate students.

I have two Ouvertures with different facings. The "standard" (as opposed to the "vintage") facing is my current mouthpiece, I use it for everything from practicing through concerts.
(disclaimer: I do not know if Brad offers different facings by default or whether it was because I specifically asked)
In many ways (read: qualities that make it suitable for a student) it is similar to the Fobes Debut; I can switch forth and back between the two and forget about their differences within five minutes.
It is very reed and snout friendly and hardly ever squeaks even during warm-up with a dry reed. Clamp on and get going...

May I ask what brand of reed and reed strength you use. I wanted to know more about the facing but that is not on Mr. Behn's website. I believe facing information is listed for the Fobes Debut.
I had to smile a bit when I read at Mr. Behn's site that he has a warranty on this mouthpiece. I have seen many chipped and broken student mouthpieces in my time

I'm using Mitchell Lurie #3.5 and Selmer Primo #3.5.
As far as I can remember, the standard facing has an 1.04mm tip.
But I think Brad will be happy to give you the facing specs if you contact him by mail.
