 Rudall Carte clarinets

I have a pair of (what I believe to be) Rudall Carte "Louis" clarinets, and am keen to know their age (approximately or exactly). Their serial numbers appear to be
Bb - 7414 and A - 7616, and they are stamped "Made in Italy". I have been informed by a well-respected UK clarinettist that they are almost certainly pre-war (i.e. before 1939). Can anybody shed any further light?

Hi,
My book sayes founded 1872.
I am almost certain that they were part of the Boosey and Hawks group. Suggest you try them

Geoff
