I have much less experience with Bass Clarinet than I need at the moment, and am wondering if there is another trill fingering for F4-G4 (bottom space-second line) than the "norm." Wiggling the thumb is, of course, difficult to coordinate, and the usual trick of holding the thumb F and using the Ab/G# key is really really sharp.
Anything else out there to help this???

I'll try it tonight when I'm warming up for my 4th of July concert but I don't think there is an easier way that's reasonably well in tune. I assume you tried the side keys. I'm a lefty and don't have a problem doing the thumb trill. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com
Sorry, that's it. You could move your whole hand slightly to help move the thumb.

You could try anchoring your left pinky on say the low E key, and see if that helps your thumb with the trill.

Thanks for the suggestions. I should have made my initial post clearer, but it's actually for a new student who is bass-clarinet oriented...

You can try supporting your left hand fingers with some parts of the clarinet.

Try Thumb F and then adding the Throat G# Key. Works on Bb clar, can't be bothered trying it out on bass!

Dez, That's the "normal" trill fingering and it is really sharp on the Bass. On the soprano it works ok...bass it really doesn't.

I would do as suggested above, put the left pinky on the low E. Works on my bass at least.
