I am refurbishing an old B&H Regent in grenadilla and have had to cut out the rusted LH B and C# posts. I have two replacements from a donor Regent but the internal threads on the body are slightly smaller than the threads of the posts. Any ideas?

In any event you can ream the thread holes in the wood just a wee bit, using a small drill or a dental burr. If you have suitable taps, used the middle or the finest. Retry often for the perfect fit.
If the posts wobble after that treatment, epoxy them in.

If the pitch is the same, you can just tapp the holes with tapps that match the posts.

How close are the serial numbers between the two Regents?
The older Regents will have the same pillars as used on other '50s B&H clarinets (up to around 180000) before they changed the keywork in the early '60s, but the plastic Regents will probably have slightly different pillars in some places as they're much later (around '65 onwards).

Many B&H pillars are made with "Butress" threads (not the normal V profile) and finding a tap for those is tough.
Another point is that, unless you are extremely lucky, when you screw the posts in the machined recesses will not align (these are machined after the pillars were tightened firmly during manufacture).
With a Regent quality instrument I would go for the epoxy fix after slightly opening up the existing pillar holes.

I eventually reamed the threaded holes on the body and the pillars fit. thanks to you all.
