 Double Cases
Author: Jobin

I am looking for a double case for my Eb and Bb clarinets. I understand Gigliotti makes one but I can't find any (searching the internet and available in North America). Does anyone know where to look or another make?

Thanks for your help.

Call Woodwind and Brasswind or Muncy Winds and ask to have it specially ordered. Be aware that you will probably have to pay for it up front, and can't return it because it is a special order (unless it is defective in some way. And from the looks of it, it will be pricey ($250-$300 US).

I have the double Bb/Eb Gigliotti case and like it as it's only a tad bigger than a Bb case so is no extra burden. It is a bit flimsier than other cases though and has the zipper to open rather than latches but the parts all fit securely in the case with very little wiggling.

Think I bought mine from Muncy and it wasn't too expensive compared to the LeBlanc three clarinet case and much less large. As far as I know this is the only just Bb/ Eb case.

While not the most elegant solution, you may be better finding a triple case. These are commonly made, and so would be probably less expensive than a custom Bb/Eb case. And then, you can just dream about filling it with an A too!

Another approach is to modify an A/Bb case. I was able to do this with an old Leblanc double case by knocking out a small wall between where a barrel and a long section would fit. It's much handier than my triple case when I need only the Eb and Bb instruments.

What about a Wiseman? You can get one to fit your A, Bb and Eb and they are outstanding.
