Hi everyone,
I am new to here. Recently I bought a Backun Bell but it's a little bit too big to fit to my Buffet clarinet. Would anyone please advise me on what to do?
Thanks.
Jacky

Mark's advice is correct.
Just so you know, you probably got a Backun bell designed for a Selmer clarinet. The tenon fit is a bit larger.

I totally agree with Mark, contact Backun. The other thing to do is go back to where you bought it and trade it. You should always try several anyway, apparently you didn't even try this one, because with all bells, barrels, mouthpieces and clarinets, they all play somewhat differently. No two of anything for your clarinet plays exactly like another. My best advise to anyone buying anything clarinet wise is to try before you buy. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

Are we perhaps missing some obvious quick fixes, like, a thicker tenon cork or maybe some Teflon tape wrapped around the existing cork?

Another quick fix is to burn the cork a bit with a lighter. It will cause the cork to swell and hopefully it will be enough to hold the bell. I did this with my horn because my Backun barrels were too big.

Rather than burning the cork with a lighter I wet the cork then when my wife is not looking use her iron to heat the cork to cause it to swell.

This is when you are ironing your shirts then?
