 La Bar Artiste

I bought an old wooden clarinet which is stamped La Bar Artiste with the serial number in the 2500's. Can anyone tell me about this instrument. I want to have it reconditioned, but I also have newer plastic model that I could have reconditioned instead if this one is "not so good". Thanks for any info.
