Hello,
I am a High School clarinet teacher and am trying to get my kids to play more. I already have a Clarinet Choir and an Honors Clarinet Quartet.
But now I am trying to add a Jazz Clarinet Ensemble, but can't seem to find any Jazz Clarinet Ensemble Music.
Does anybody know where I can find some Jazz Clarinet Ensemble Music?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rob,
Besides looking for existing clarinet ensemble scores, here are two ideas I'd like to suggest:
* Have jazz scores for sax section (with rhythm section) played by 2 alto clarinets, 2 bass clarinets, and contra-alto clarinet (or transpose the baritone sax part for bass clarinet). I cannot help but think this will sound incredibly cool.
* Rescore some large jazz ensemble scores for a clarinet ensemble. This, too, I would expect to sound really good. But, it will require some work.
It's my suspection that not a lot of material has been written for a jazz clarinet ensemble. With that in mind, I think you'll probably need to find some jazz ensemble pieces and rescore them for your ensemble.
If you're interested, I have some concert pitch scores posted in the online library of the American Music Center. You're welcome to use these scores if you find something that is of interest to you. They were written for my 10-piece contemporary jazz ensemble B-WOB. Again, they would need to be transposed for a clarinet ensemble.

I also have a really fun arrangement of Cotton Tail that I recently finished for B-WOB that I can email you. I can hear it in my mind being performed by a clarinet ensemble.
Best Wishes, Roger Aldridge

Rob,
The score is on the way to you. The PDF is a large file so I had to send it zipped. I cannot help but think your students will love to play this arrangement if it can be scored for clarinet ensemble. Let me know if you have any questions.
Roger
