 Selmer CL201

Hi,

I bought my Selmer CL201 clarinet last summer on ebay for around $450. It seemed like such a good deal for a wood clarinet so I got it. I verified with the serial number that it was indeed brand new by calling up the company. I also brought it to a Sam Ash Clarinet Tech and he looked at it and played it and said it was fine (for a regular clarinet, that is; not a pro one). Anyway, I was wondering what thoughts anyone has on this clarinet. I am pretty much a newbie and have no basis of comparison. I do know that it is now listed in the Woodwind and Brasswind Company's catalogue for $1,385, so I figure it must be somewhat good. On this site and even googling Selmer CL201 really not much comes up. Also, most clarinets that seem to be talked about are the Buffets, Yamahas, and others. Additionally, note that the Buffet E11, another clarinet that's mentioned a lot and I think is on the same level as this one is priced at $1,055 in their catalogue. So, in summary, what's the deal with this clarinet??? Anybody know???

Thanks a lot.

Steven
