Before I get into writing Protec and maybe ordering this case and then having to send it back, does anyone know for sure if this case will handle a bass clarinet to low C? From the few (and small) photos I've seen of it, it looks as if it'll only handle a b cl to low Eb.
Given the stress on the key work when assembling and disassembling a two-piece-body bass clarinet, I'd prefer a case that wouldn't require taking the horn apart.
I'll research it, but if anyone has any first-hand experience with this, that would be great.
Thanks.
B.

All of Protec's bass clarinet cases are designed to accomodate a low Eb, one-piece clarinet only. Their marketing reps have told me repeatedly that they do not make a low C bass clarinet case and have no plans to produce one.
I've also been urging Marcus Bonna & the Reunon Blues folks to put a lightweight, softside low C bass clarinet gig bag into production, but so far, no results other than, "Ya, we really should have one--maybe next year..." An alternative to the bulky Bams would really be nice.
