I've done a couple of searches on this but haven't come up with anything useful. I'd like to find a good recording of the L'Histoire Suite for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano.
The first one to come up on my google and amazon searches is from the Alaska Pro Musica. Anyone know this recording? Comments?
I also found on itunes just the 4th movement, Tango-Valse-Rag by Gidon Kremer/Eduard Brunner/Aloys Kontrasky. Is the whole suite available by them?
Are there any other recordings that I should search out?
Thanks,
CJM

Thanks. Just ordered the Boston Chamber Music one. Have to support the locals although the clip from the Loren Kitt recording sound really nice.

CJM:
You can't beat the Boulez, Cleveland recording. Boulez is to 20th century orchestral conducting what Szell was to 18th and 19th: the master. Franklin Cohen plays clarinet.

There are a number of fine ensemble recordings available, (Boston Chamber Players w/ Wright, LA Chamber Orchestra- Schwartz conducting w/ Shifrin, Orchestra of St Luke's-Robert Craft w/Bill Blount. However, the question was about the trio version.

I somehow came across a recording of l’Historie du Soldat from the Walter Boeykens group. I’ve heard a couple of other recording and I find the one from Boeykens to be the best. I won’t send it over as it’s copyrighted, but I think it wouldn’t be too bad to try to find that recording on the net.

Seconding the vote for the Boeykens disc. Also has Contrasts and the Berg Adagio... and if you don't know the Berg you really should.

ok this is the recording to get, Stravinsky conducting Stravinsky. its great, and you have the luxury of hearing how Stravinsky wanted it! which is a luxury you dont get with too many pieces. the whole collection of stravinsky conducting stravinsky is the best,
Good luck
