 Lower Register... Broken?
Author: Graciela

When I play a low F and E on my soprano clarinet, it makes a weird fuzzy buzzing-ish sound like there's water inside, but there isn't. Does anyone have any clue what has happened before I go spend a bunch of money bringing it to the shop? Cause i have to fix it before auditions... :(

Is the spring on the RH G#/D# key really light? If it is too light then the it is being blown open.
I battle this problem often because I like the touch of really light springs.
To test, have a friend hold that key down while you play the low E and F.

It could be what Skygardener said or there can be a piece of lose skin on one of the pads that is "blowing" around as you play. I'd bring it to a tech to have it checked. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com
