This undoubtedly has been covered in eons past, or is too stupid to be asked, BUT, are there any Alto Sax mouthpieces that can be used on an Alto Clarinet? I bought an older E-Flat Alto Clarinet and do not like the mouthpiece. All the ones I have seen cost almost as much as the instrument itself. There are dozens of Alto Sax mouthpieces on EBay. Comments please (I don't need the ones telling me to junk the E-Flat Alto ) Thanks in advance.

No they won't fit.
The alto saxophone mouthpiece fits *over* the neck of the instrument. i.e. The neck of the sax is corked and goes inside the mouthpiece.
The alto clarinet mouthpiece fits into the neck of the clarinet. i.e. The outside of the mouthpiece is corked and is inserted into the neck similar to the way that the soprano clarinet mouthpiece fits into the barrel.

"WHO KNEW"?
Shows that old clarinet players never look around past their section.

No, as the above have said. Having a number of alto cl mps myself [ always looking for a better one!!] , if you cant find a playable one in your local repair shop's "junk box", contact me by E-Mail. Selmer must have made a bunch of Bundy 3's, not bad!! I'm surprised there are none presently on an EBAY alto cl search! Don

Mps--no. Reeds--yes. Alto sax reeds are playable on alto clarinet mps.
