Dear Colleagues,
(I have changed my text due to the opinions from other colleagues.
Thanks for your interest.)
This is just a question about the common used 'Clarinet methods' in your country (The generalising-problem...OK, that's a good point. But I just want to know the answers based on your personal experience. Please don't hesitate to answer me.^^ )
Which method do you use for beginner in your country?
For example, in Germany they use the Bärmannschule absolutely.
In Korea the Langenus method is totally dominant.
In Japan, I've heard, they use the Klose method - correct?
How about France, USA, UK etc??
Surely you can answer different methods, but please notice the mostly used one.
I prefer the answer from who live at place really or have precise knowledge.
With musical greetings

Hi,
In Poland we use Kurkiewicz, Wiedemann, Bärmannschule, Klose. Sometimes also Colin, Kell and Kropsh.
Greetings

Thans for the first answer from Poland!
Please let me know which one is mostly used.
Maybe the Klose method? Cause one play the Boehm system in Poland.

How can you possibly generalise about this? Surely not everyone starts with the Bärmannschule in Germany. Here in Australia I know adult beginners who play the older books such as Klose, Bärmann, Thurston & Frank and Lazarus in combination, but also books designed for younger students, of which there are many. Language is surely no barrier as all of these books appear in several languages, and although the Bärmann is perhaps more ideal for the German system clarinet, it is certainly available for Boehm-system clarinet students and used by them.

One of the reasons I seldom allow surveys to be done on the BBoard:
The results are dubious at best. How would one know which is "most common" in their own country unless they had done their own survey? What you really want, Dr_Klarinette, is a meta-survey, but since you don't have the bottom-end numbers you really don't have much of anything.
Countries can be regional enough to have different teaching techniques in the different areas; if you ask a person in one area what is "most common" you might get a totally different answer than another.
What does "most common" mean with a mix of books?
There are too many questions that at left unanswered with such an open-ended "survey".

Besides, a teacher will have his personal preferences, and will select books depending on talent, abilities and progress of the student.

Dr Klarinette's most accurate way forward might be research into the sales figures of these various method books especially focusing on delivery addresses. It's the only objective way I can think of.
Even were this question to be limited to adult learner only responses, it would still be vastly biased due to the fact that people have to be on this board.
