Orchestral Musician's CD-ROM Library

I have checked the search feature... and I know how it works and where to get it from.

My question is this: What volumes, of the current 10, are worth buying? I know there are full section parts, but if you go for Volume 6 with Mozart and Haydn, there aren't going to be very many clarinet parts...there will simply be a "TACET" that appears on a page. So why pay for a full volume if all you get is a table of contents and only a few parts?

If anyone has a complete 10 Volume set, which volumes are worth buying???

I want to guess all but volume 6?

I have Volumes 1 through 9. They are a great resources and all 9 volumes should be in your personal library.

Volume 10 (JS Bach, Handel, Arne, CPE Bach, Boccherini, Cimarosa, Dittersdorf, Gluck, Herold, Lully, Mehul, Paisiello, and Rameau) is not necesary.

As for Volume 6 ( Mozart, Haydn ), although these composers' early works do not require clarinets, there are enough later works to make this CD worthwhile.

Specifically - for Mozart there are clarinet parts for 4 symphonies, 4 piano concertos, 8 overtures, 3 serenades, the Mass, the Requiem, Divetimento #1 and a Sinfonia Concertante.

For Haydn - you get 5 late symphonies, The Creation and The Seasons.

That is plenty of music for the $19.95 price...GBK

The clarinet version of vol. 10 has mostly classical orchestrations of older works (such as Mozart's Messiah). However, it does have the Zampa overture, with its famous solo. http://www.vcisinc.com/omcdrom.htm

I'd say order the complete clarinet set, but then I have a serious Music Acquisition Syndrome (not to mention GAS).
