Marco Antonio Mazzini, my buddy who helps out on the ClariPeru mailing list run from Woodwind.Org and who runs the clariperu.org website, has won the bass clarinet position in the YouTube Symphony Orchestra.

I've known Marco for quite some time now - a genuinely nice guy!

He's also got some great videos on YouTube, besides his YTSO audition video (which was great, btw), including some instructional ones on extended clarinet techniques (in Spanish).

Here's another. I hope that regular poster Liquorice won't mind my revealing that he is a member of the Orchestra La Scintilla of Zurich Opera, which got a glowing review (along with the soloist, Cecelia Bartoli) for its Carnegie Hall concert last night. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/05/arts/music/05bart.html?scp=2&sq=bartoli&st=cse.
