I got an Elkhart metal clarinet, the kind with the picture of an elk and a heart. Alas, it came with a barrel that is either mismatched or incomplete. Pictures are below. The barrel looks kind of like a Conn 514, but not exactly.
I'm wondering who stenciled this clarinet, what sort of barrel it takes, and what sort of clarinet the barrel I have belongs to.

Velly interesting, Molloy, Jim Lande should be your most knowledgable metal cl specialist. Of those I've seen, very few had adjustable barrels, and your pic looks to me to be somewhat diff from Bettoney'adj. for his Silva Bet. Much Luck, Don

I can't add much other than yes, the barrel does look like the Conn 514 and that some metal clarinets were marked Elkhart Band Instruments. The one you show doesn't look like any of the pro models made in Elkhart, Ind. There is an Elkhart WI and it has a music connection (Allied supply). Wish I could tell you more, or even make a guess.

There is an Elkhart Lake, Wi and also an Elkhart, Wi. The latter is (was?) the home of the Holton Co. musical instruments maker. The bell of the subject clarinet clearly says Elkhart (according to my eyes) . I can't add any more either.
