I'm planning on investing in a new clarinet barrel. I'm planning on purchasing one made of cocobolo wood. Yesterday, I was at an All-State convention and was exploring some exhibits when I played on this barrel (I believe) made of cocobolo wood and was "fluted" (Similar to an Accubore barrel). I wasn't able to get a brochure, and I'd like to be able to buy one. The area was selling "Accent" clarinets and I believe the company was West Music Company. Problem: I have no idea how to contact them or look at a catalog or find out anything about the barrel. If anyone has played on a barrel similar to this, has any idea what company I'm talking about, or if you have any suggestions on a better barrel, please respond!

West Music's web address is, logically enough, http://www.westmusic.com. The site is at this moment (Sunday night just before the SuperBowl) down for "unscheduled maintenance," but once it's up again you can probably find an email address to send an inquiry if you can't find the barrel on the website itself.
Out of curiosity, what problem are you trying to solve with a new barrel or with this one in particular?

Thanks. Mainly, the usual throat tones are an issue. Also trying to do more to improve my tone.

Just to be the Devil's advocate, how do you expect a replacement barrel to affect the your throat tones? What other notes might also be affected?
Might there be negative effects as well as positive ones?
