Where do I find my clarinet type?
Author: Noah

Hi! Well, I got this great Buffet 7 years ago from my uncle who had played it for a while. And I have been asked what type of clarinet it is, and I just don't know. Where could I find out what type of clarinet it is.

The only ways I can think of is to either find an excellent clarinet repair tech who might be able to identify it, or cross-reference the serial number with the Buffet company.

Good luck,
Frank

Look carefully at the clarinet. If there's no model name or model type (E-xx, International, Festival, B-xx, RC, or something similar - on the body) on it, then check the serial number against the list here on Sneezy. If it was made after 1955, then it is what we commonly refer to as an R-13.
