what pads to choose for bass clarinet?
Author: Ken Rasmussen

I just bought a Selmer Series 9 bass clarinet, and I think I'll have it repadded. Are there any pads which I should make an extra effort to get (and where shall I find them?) or bad pads that I should avoid?

I would opt for the white kid leather pads myself. If I remmember correctly, thats what is original on the big Selmers.

Ken, I would certainly go with the white leather. I wouldn't put anything else on bass clarinet, unless a certain situation required it. -- Nate Zeien

Everyone I've talked to says use cork pads on both register keys.
