 Posting your response

Just a reminder -

We have increasingly noticed that some of the responses being posted are merely repeats of what has ALREADY BEEN POSTED on that same thread, making it obvious that you have not taken the time to read the entire thread.

PLEASE read the full thread before echoing something which has already been written.

If you are posting only just to say "I agree/I disagree", and see your name in print - Don't.

It adds nothing to the current discussion. The archives, which we do clean up and eliminate the useless postings, are cluttered enough without additional "noise"

Thanks -

...GBK

"I agree"s are actually valid responses because they could show how much others are supporting certain posts and arguments.

I do, however, see the problems of the repetitive congestion that slows you down when searching for comments/posts.

I wonder if the BBoard could implement some "Thumb's Up" features within a post.

Something like a thumb icon at the bottom of the post you can click when you think it's valuable. It shows the numbers of people putting their thumbs up.

Just a thought.

Just another thing to add about responding...

You do not need to respond to each thread here. Leave that to the more experienced members.

I speak from previous experience... GBK you may remember :)

"Leave that to the more experienced members."

If we limit discussion to those with "experience" how will any of the less experienced clarinetists out there ever learn anything?

Massa's idea is awesome. Although reading through all of the responses gives me a sense of provenance for a particular person -- it helps me gauge how seriously to take a particular response.

Which means what exactly???

The words that brought me to these boards years ago were:

-- "A Source of Information for the Clarinet Amateur, Professional, and Anyone Who "Just Wants to Know" --
