It's a Leblanc Backun clarinet, can't tell if it's Legacy or a Symphonie. Someone else surely knows though.

Hello -
Anthony plays on Leblanc Legacy clarinets. I believe he continues to play the Backun MoBa cocobolo barrels he selected at the ICA show this past summer.
Cheers -

Hello Everyone,
First and foremost....CONGRATULATIONs to Anthony, both for the wonderful article in the New York Times and the invitation to play for the Obama Inauguration with a few very select, world class artists. For those of you that have not heard Anthony, run (don't walk) to the Metropolitan Opera or any performance that he may give.
He is a player with superb control of the instrument, musical imagination and a beautiful fluidity. On top of that, he is one of the most down to earth and "fun" guys you will ever meet.
Anthony does play on Leblanc by Backun Legacy B Flat and A Clarinets, Backun Moba model Cocobolo Bells and Barrels (as well as Backun Fatboy's for some things) and a Backun Mouthpiece.
Who knows....maybe Anthony can Inspire Barack Obama to take up the Clarinet!

Yo Yo has a carbon fibre cello that he endorses. (There is an adv. for it in the AFM magazine)
I would wager that the venue has a heated flooring and heated area within the bullet-proof enclosure.

Hey Morrie,
Any clue what Anthony will be playing Tuesday? I'm sure not his indoor horns...will he play plastic horns?

Hi Blake,
I spoke with Anthony yesterday. He is planning to play his regular instrument. But he asked me to send some shorter barrels as he expects the area is not heated.
Regards,
Morrie

¿Does anyone know what time he will be playing? I would like to avoid the boring speeches if possible.

Besides what time he is playing does anyone know if it will be broadcast on any major networks? say...cnn? I saw you can watch the inauguration on cnn.com, which is convenient, but I wasnt sure if the entertainment would be broadcast.

He plays right before Obama takes the oath of office. Here is a link for the schedule:

This is not 'entertainment.' It's a significant part of the Inauguration ceremony. The 4-minute John Williams Copland-style piece will be performed between the Vice-President's oath of office and the President's. It should be difficult to find anything else on TV this Tuesday, Jan. 20.
