 Pruefer identities?
Author: rmr25

I'm presently refurbishing a couple of Pruefers. The stamping on one says"GP, Pruefer, mfr, Prov RI" inside an oval. On the upper joint, beneath the oval is "Silver Throat." Serial # 40448. The other has the oval, but the GP is stamped outside and beneath is "Student Model." On the bell is the oval, but below is "Carl Fischer, Exclusive Distributor." Serial # 9279. I cannot find any differences between the two instruments. Keywork and dimensions are the same. The barrels are identical, except for the stamping. And, they both play the same. Maybe the Student Model came with a different mouthpiece? Any other thoughts?.
