I hope it is better than his Debut mouthpiece for bass. When I got one it wobbled in the neck because it was a whole mm narrower in diameter, and the outside diameter was too small to take my Bonade ligature. The inside of the mouthpiece looked like it had been carved out with a flint axe. Needless to say, I got rid of it.

i've had excellent results with them. i have several students playing them with good success.
they work well with a rovner ligature. i haven't used a legere much on bass. i prefer vandoren bass cl. reeds.

WOW....you are the first person Ive heard that likes Vandoren.
I talked to two pro players Wednesday night and they both suggested either legere or the other fibercane reed (cant remember the name)
I guess its different with everyone.

Legere reeds can be good on bass, but you should buy several (at least 3) to make sure you have the right strength and that you get a good one.
I usually play Vandoren 3's on bass, but have been saved a few times by a very good legere 3 1\4 reed.
I have never tried Fobes' bass mouthpieces, only his Bb ones. He is very knowledgeable and does good work. The nova seems to be a reasonably priced piece.
I would order directly from him though. It would be good to talk to him briefly about what you need anyway, he is helpful.

Anything that I have played from Clark, at any price level for any clarinet, has been top notch. He does great work. You may wish to talk with him about your thoughts, although last I knew, you will need to order through another source, such as Muncy Winds.

I own and like the Nova for Bb, but have never had the chance to try it for bass. I use Fibracell reeds with good results on my C*. I like them better than Légères. Maybe sometime I'll have the time and budget to get one...
