This one's a little more realistic - the computer corner of my home office.

Hey, that's terrific Mark!!!
You look quite comfortable in the cockpit. Is that a special chair chosen for its ergonomic comfort? I'm trying to find something for both home office and mouthpiece work that's more to my liking...
Best,
Greg

Greg,
That chair was a bad choice and horrible investment. It felt good when I bought it, but I should have known better - it was only about $250 or so.
Try a real office furniture place and look for Steelcase or one of the other major office furniture manufacturers if you really want a good chair. Plan on spending at least $600 if you want an "8 hour" chair - one that'll keep you comfortable for a whole day at a desk. Some of the manufacturers are now rating them that way, too.

Here is the person who puts up with my antics - my lovely wife of 21 years, Masako.

Souvenir of a trip to Paris - Beaujolais Villages Nouveau 1997 - empty, of course. You gotta drink that one when it's young :^)

Mark there is one important thing missing in your office. Where is your clarinet? I have mine sitting right next to the computer. That way when something is downloading or what ever i can play for a few minutes. You may what to give this a go.
This is more like i pictured you. The suit and tie didn't quite fit.
peace

The clarinet is just about where the camera was - it's on a stand next to a filing cabinet (where it's protected but easily available).

Hmmm... Here I thought I was the only one with a clarinet by my computer. It's one of my spares - a plastic one, so I don't need to worry about leaving it out, but it's handy to have nearby. Mark, I think you should put this/these picture(s) with the other one, unless you actually want people to think you sit at your computer in a suit. I know I wouldn't. Do you have any pictures with your clarinet? -- Nate Zeien

I work full time as a machinist, and I keep a clarinet in my tool box--just in case!

Mark, I was not planning to send in a "pledge" but after seeing these pctures............
Just kidding -- I support your effort to make this site available to us all, even though I am just a beginner. I cannot play yet (except open "G") but my CL is within arms reach of my computer.
Don't be fooled by the "Designer" chairs. We have those at work -- this style won an international design award for ergonomcs and after a weeks use I would go home wirh a back ache. Brought my $70 Office Depot chair to work and have had no problems since (I sit at a computer all day).
However, some of the furniture stores *will* allow you to keep them in you office for a week or so for a "test drive". Of course those are the $600 chairs.
Have good one Mark and thanks for being there (and you too Masako -- we just celebrated our 43rd) ~ jerry
