Hey everyone,
I have a mouthpiece that I am unfamiliar with as far as its origin. It reads "bonade Clarity" on the beak, has one line up and three lines down, as well as a scroll (similar to the scroll chedeville). It also has a slight A-frame.
I have some other bonades that are QS blanks, but I can't find much info on this one.
Can anyone tell me what blank\era this mouthpiece came from? Any information would be appreciated!

Bonade "Clarity" is the Lelandais blank from the late 40's. The scroll is similar but not the same as the later and poorly finished Chedeville/Lelandais mouthpieces from the 50's-60's. Whoever finished Bonade "Clarity" mouthpieces also did a pretty lousy job. The material is one of the best.

Mr. Krass,
Thanks for your input! I was worried my first thread on woodwind.org would go unanswered!
The mouthpiece does play as is, but mediocre at best. The rubber is quite brown, not that that means anything I suppose.
Could this turn out to be an audition quality piece if reworked?
Thanks in advance.

Also, is there anything that can be done to restore the black color of the mouthpiece? Your mouthpiece work always yields the most beautiful shine and color, so if anyone would know, you would!
Thanks again,
Nathan

I have one of these, it kinda sucks like it is. I wonder what it's potential would be. Tom Puwalski
