Mark, Blues for Sabine must be pretty obscure, even Amazon.com doesn't list this in the EMI catalog. Any idea where it might be?

Pete Fountain, especial his blues album. Buddy DeFranco, great stuff. Of course there is all the swing stuff. You have the old with Benny Goodman some great honkin', and there is some really great new swing coming out that have some fine clarinet playing band leaders. I can't recall there names right now. Do a Web search on recordings, cd's.

The record companies often drop lesser-known or slow-selling CDs from their catalog, even though they may be musical gems. This is one - produced in 1994 - if you can find it, buy it. It's one of my favorites. Music by Zito, Strayhorn, Kuhn, Francaix, Cech, Stravinsky, Poulenc, Gray

Any recordings by Larry Combs, John Bruce-Yeh, Bill Smith or Eddie Daniels. If yo want "pyro technique" go for Robert Springs "Dragons Tongue" or Charles Neidichs "Orpheus" CDs. There are many other recordings on the market that a competent music store could make known to you--these are just a few recomendations that come to mind. Good listening.

I like Artie Shaw very well. I never have to wonder who is playing when I hear an Artie Shaw recording. I like his ideas, his verve, his altissimo playing and his ability to create musical contrasts.

There are tons of fine musicians and recordings out there, but I'll limit my suggestion to two of them - Naftule Brandwein and Benny Goodman. Most of what I have learned about jazz and klezmer style, I have learned from the recordings of these two artists. They aren't the only ones, but they're two of my favorites. -- Nate Zeien

I bought a recording of Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. (with the Bassoon Concerto on the same CD). It features: Josef Luptacik on the Clarinet with the Mozart Academy (Bratislava), recorded at the Concert Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic.
Um, is this GOOD?
I'm new to classical music in general as well as the players and orchestras...

My teacher is living on the album he makes..... be cool and buy them.... He's called Steven Kanoff.... and he's amazing but not very well known.... You all know his teacher probably... Mitchell Lurie....
He has recorded Many cd's including
