Anybody have a spare copy of this work for sale?
Boosey & Hawkes has it listed as available but they came back and told me it's out of stock. The only other alternative is to pay $4.95 plus tax to print it off the internet, but I wouldn't know the quality and if it's the same as the B&H.
James Campbell plays this on a new CD called "Carl Reineke and Friends". We were taken with this piece by Norbert Burgmuller and thought it would be a great addition to a recital since it's not already been played to death.

It's one of my favorite early 19th century clarinet works. (BTW -Burgmuller only lived to the age of 26).
My copy is published by Simrock (edited by Jost Michaels)
Hickey's Music shows it as available, but in an edition (Schott) I've never seen:

GBK, would you please change the spelling in the heading so that anyone who searches can have a fighting chance of finding this name? I notice that the name is sometimes ended with "..mueller" and sometimes with "..muller" , but if the beginning of the name is changed to "Burg.." then the rest doesn't matter so much.

I've found that dealing with the publisher directly, for the large publishing houses, is the absolute most effective way to NOT get the music to play. Consider yourself lucky that they actually got in contact to tell you it was out of stock, rather than just leading you on for 4 months.

(Somehow, an earlier attempt I made at posting went astray.)
The version I have is the Schott version and, like virtually all of their music I've encountered, it is fine. Sheetmusicplus (see their link on this page) and Gary Van Cott:

What is your opinion of the editing done by Jost Michaels? I have another of his pieces, and some folks have questioned the relevance of the phrasing choices in his work.

I have only seen and used his edition of the Burgmuller and never had any problem with his phrasing or articulation decisions. They have felt logical and seemed consistent.
However, his Rossini Theme and Variations edition suffers from awkward tonguing and slurring patterns. I think the David Glazer edition, which uses more tonguing (where Michaels chooses slurring) might be a bit more difficult to execute as written, but actually feels more natural to play.
