Transcription of Dvorak's Carnival Overture by Leigh Steiger

This transcription is fantastic! It is for concert band but the clarinets are the center of attention nearly the whole time. Part wise it calls for:
Eb Clarinet (1)
1st Solo Clarinet (1)
2nd Solo Clarinet (1)
1st Clarinet (2+)
2nd Clarinet (2+)
3rd Clarinet (2+)
4th Clarinet (2+)
Bass Clarinet (1+)
Contra-Bass Clarinet (1)

The parts are incredibly difficult (the solo parts aren't surprisingly) because they are technically demanding and expose a lot of weaknesses in the clarinet that really require a play with a good ear to correct.

The DC Army band has a recording of this piece that you can download for free. As for myself, I plan to lay down all the clarinet parts using garage band and see how it turns out.
