I have a pair of Haynes silver clarinets, a B-flat and an A, made in 1934 (models 242 and 243). They have not been played in many years and need some work. Can anyone recommend a qualified, reputable person to work on this type of instrument? Thanks.

I know that the folks at Robertos Woodwinds in NYC have done work on Haynes silver clarinets in the past.
If it is one of those double-walled models, they are rare and very valuable, and reportedly very good.
They had one for sale at the store (2 yrs ago) for 10K.
Hope this helps.

Bill Cole in Saratoga Springs, NY.

He's deliberate, and delicate with "old ladies".
Much in demand, you will wait for delivery - but he's VERY capable.

Drop me an email and I'll buy these from you - as they are!

You might want to contact the Haynes Co. about restoring these treasures:

Or Powell Flutes. -- in as much as Verne Q. Powell was responsible for them when he was employed by Haynes.
