Is it just me or does the B45 seem like a fat mouthpiece? I have a couple of el-cheapo ligatures that either don't fit it very well or won't fit at all with either Gonzalez or Vandoren reeds.
Can anyone recommend and affordable makes or models that will fit?
Thanks.

I bet the Bonade Inverted or a simple Rovner(light or dark) would fit, more likely to be the rover. Its quite cheap, and the screw is very adjustable.

Any standard ligature, beyond the cheapies should likely fit. (Bonade, BG, Rovner, Luyben, Vandoren, etc)
I have seen some student horn with ligatures that barely fit. They end up over tightening because they don't work and end up breaking them or the screws.

Hi Johnny. I have a Rovener lig that I don't use. E-mail me if you want it. No charge.

The B45 should be a standard sized mouthpiece.
I know Rovner Dark, Rovner ED2, Luyben, stock yamaha ligatures fit with it.
Maybe it's your "el-cheapo" ligatures :P

Try a Luyben. They fit and have a great free-blowing tone.
I use that and my that and my own el-cheapo metal, and string ligatures that i make w/ nylon or hemp chord.
If you've never tried a string/fabric ligature I would recommend that you do to see if they work good for you.

The Bonade fits perfectly. I played on that combo from high school through college.
