I'll be going to Dublin for a few days early next week. Does anybody know of particular sites or places to see that may be relevant to a clarinetist/musician?

Well, when I was in Dublin I visited the Guiness factory. It doesn't have anything to do with clarinet, but is definitely worth a visit! :-)

If you like Joyce be sure to check out some of the museums/walking tours- maybe not clarinet related, but Joyce was one of the great 20th century artistic minds. Definitely visit the Guinness factory!

Well a 'pint' is mainly black with brown undertones to its colour. It can be rich and creamy like the tone of the clarinet...

Handel as well as having Messiah first performed in Dublin also probably first heard the clarinet played by a Mr. Charles, a Hungarian in the city. He subsequently composed an 'Overture' for two clarinets and horn.

Incidentally there is a very fine Woodwind shop in Dublin, Paul Ryan Woodwind and Brass in Eustace Street, Temple Bar. He is most knowledgeable about all things clarinet and saxophone in particular.
