I bought a few plastic tuning ringsfrom WWBW about 8 years ago and I would like to get more, but they no longer seem to carry them. The only tuning rings I see are the metal Buffet ones.
Not only were they plastic and light, but they were really cheap (maybe $5 for 3).
What, where, and how much $$ are the tuning rings you like?

The clear plastic tuning rings, which I also bought at that time, might have been made by LaVoz (?) but I haven't seen them offered for many years.
Besides the metal Buffet tuning rings, there are hard rubber ones from Selmer, and Phil Muncy offers his own version, from Muncie Winds.

What has been the best solution for me, has been to find rubber( the old style black rubber ones) hose washers at a hardware store, then using an exacto knife and sand paper or emery cloth, custom shape the size tuning ring I need.
Granted this is time intensive, but I'm disabled and have a lot of time on my hands. The result is superior to any metal or plastic rings I've ever tried.

I've had good success using "0" rings purchased at my local ACE hardward store. They fit tightly over the tendon and are "weightless". They do leave a gap between the end of the tendon and the socket, but Tom Ridenour assured me years ago that the gap was of no accoustic significance and that I "should not worry about it". Cheap, no adjustments needed except selecting the correct size, will not slip off between use but are easily removed if need be and "nano" weight--0 rings work for me.

William: Maybe I'm confused as it's early morning but I thought tuning rings were to sit below the tenon and not OVER it. Perhaps your original intent was to close the gap OUTSIDE of the socket when you "pulled out" for tuning. When you pull out you create two different gaps.....the one that requires the tuning ring is at the bottom of the socket. At least that's my understanding.

That's what I've done - in fact, I've got three tuning rings by turning down an old mouthpiece and parting off three different thickness rings.
Dig out your old plastic Buffet mouthpiece and chop it up!
