Hi,
I also have a Bass Clarinet, but everywhere i look to see when it was made, i can't find out. I have checked the date right here on Sneezy and various other sites in the past but have never found my model number. The Make of my Bass is Evette & Schaffeur (Buffet) As far as i know!
Can anyone suggest site to look on!

It's not a Buffet, that's why you can't find the serial number. It's an Evette & Schaeffer distributed by Buffet, not made by Buffet. It is very common for music companies to distribute musical instruments not manufactured by them to fulfill some market segment they're not covering.

Maybe you should try to go onto the website of the maker of your clarinet. I am also a Bass Clarinet player, but I don't really care when mine was made. My advise is to, if there is one, go onto like, www.buffet.com or www.EvetteSchauffeur.com. I don't know if either one will work though. Hope I helped, even a little!!!

Hi thanxs for the feed back, but neither site worked or had it! And Mark, i appreciate you correcting me, but you could be more helpful by maybe givin advice on sites of which you know and of sites of which i can go to rather than correcting my grammatical error in the sense of make.

It wasn't grammatical at all - if you were looking at Buffet charts you were wasting your time.
AFAIK there <b>aren't</b> any charts for E & S bass clarinets or I <b>would</b> have pointed you towards them.

The buffet site or boosey i think, you type the info of your bass in a search thing and it tells you about it! Mine was made in 1950! When i find it again i'll let you know!

The Buffet site serial numbers(owned by Boosey & Hawkes) is for Buffet clarinets http://www.boosey.com/Instruments/Service/TipsMoreChoice.htm. Have you double checked with them to find out if your E & S is covered by their list? Serial numbers for Buffet harmony clarinets (bass, altos, etc.) are on this site, too, and 1950 would correspond to around 19506 - 19578 for serial numbers. I have been told by Buffet that the E & S serial numbers of E & S (Buffet) clarinets do not follow the Buffet numbering.
