I'm performing Paul Jeanjean's Arabesques in about two weeks for my high school music (theory, history, performance) class, and i have to say a few words about Jeanjean and the piece itself (time period, type of music, etc) before I perform. I would appreciate a link to a webpage that has some information or at least some information that you might know.
Thanks in advance,
Marco

The latest issue of The Clarinet, the magazine of the International Clarinet Association, has an article about Jeanjean and his music. Perhaps a large library in your area has the magazine.

Thanks, Mark, I'll try to look at a library nearby. Don't let that stop anyone else from posting some info, though !

All I can say about Jeanjean is that he was a clarinet teacher at the Paris Conservatory during the early part of the 20th century. And I'm not too sure about that. For my senior recital, I performed Jeanjean's Carnival of Venice and tried to do some research on him and found nothing!
If you're near a university that has a Music Library, I suggest that you sneak in there and try and find some information on him.
Good luck,
Frank
