Clarinet Mag Article on Ricardo's 1st teacher
Author: DavidBlumberg

Interesting Article in the Sept Clarinet Mag about Ricardo's 1st teacher.

It mentions Ricardo making his solo debut at age 13 with the Puerto Rico Symphony palying the Weber 2nd concerto.

What it doesn't say is that he started playing the Clarinet at age 12 ........
I know that as both of us started playing Clarinet at age 12.

Holy crap!

Ricardo played the Weber for me at the Eastern Music Festival that summer for the seating audition, his first of five summers he studied with me that EMF. I could not believe how good he was having only played for one year at that time. Four summers later, age 16, he won the concerto competition playing the Nielsen, by memory of course. What a talent. By the way, I began playing the clarinet at age 12 also but could hardly play “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” at age 13. ESP www.peabody.jhu.edu/457
Listen to a little Mozart.

Hey Ed, does that mean you were in the final pages of the Rubank book?
