 mouthpiece case
Author: Molloy

A couple of months ago someone posted a link to some beautiful mouthpiece cases on a German retail website. Would they please post it again?
(I bookmarked the page for when I was ready to risk an international wire transfer to a place whose language I don't much understand... but it turns out that Firefox periodically and without warning purges my bookmark list. Now I'm eager to buy a couple of those cases and don't know where to go.)

Or, does anyone know of a US dealer that sells a good case for ten or more mouthpieces?

Here's a list of mouthpiece cases from Harald Hüyng's site:

Molly,

I was the one who asked the question about the clarinet barrels case. Since none of the choices there were what I needed I created my own case. If you want e-mail me and I can send you a pic. of what the case looks like.

"Here's a list of mouthpiece cases from Harald Hüyng's site"

Thank you. That looks different than the website I remember but it's the same cases. I started the order process and it looks like they only do online business within Germany. I emailed to see if they will ship to the USA. If I have to buy from Europe I want to do so before the dollar loses what's left of its value.

I sure wouldn't mind seeing the case you made, but I'm not up to making one myself. If I ever muster up the courage to try that sort of thing my first priority would be to refurbish a couple of really old Selmer double cases I have that I'd like to be using instead of storing them in the closet thinking, "maybe someday...".

I believe I posted a response on that thread suggesting that the case be made from a pistol case. Be sure to get one of good size for you and with good foam that is just a flat piece...no egg-crate foam. you can then use an exacto knife to cut the shape you need. Unless you are a freak about aesthetics, this is a good way to go.

Here's one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Aluminum-Case-for-16-Clarinet-Mouthpieces-or-Barrels_W0QQitemZ160286914884QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160286914884&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Personally, I just use an old shoe box for my spare Woodwinds, Selmers, Bays, Links, Bergs, Kaspar, Wells, and "no names". Also room for all my ligs & caps currently not in use.
