Could someone who uses these for pads indicate how many in the cup for each of the following pad sizes?
8mm

That depends on the size of the pellets, the thickness of the pad back (if it is a pad with shoulders) compared with the key cup thickness, and whether you just glue the pad or you want to make it float over a layer of glue. Considering all those things, and also the pellets and pads and the instrument I'm working on at a certain moment, it's usually anywhere from about half a pellet to about two and a half pellets, more or less, on average. The real answer is, enough to make the pad secure, but not too much to make a mess.

It also depends a lot on whether the top of the pad cup is domed (inside) or flat, and how much it is domed.
Fromk 1/2 to say 8.

Gordon is probably right, I simply don't remember the last time (or any time before that) I used more than three pellets for a low key on a clarinet.
