Hi
I just received a Normandy clarinet today. But I am unable to identify what model it is or even the year it was made. The serial number is B82427. If it helps the clarinet is wood with nickle plated keys and has the normandy shield emblem but no France stamp.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Thank You

Normandy was a student model clarinet made by Leblanc. I know lots of them were made in the 60's.

There's a link here:
http://www.clarinetperfection.com/snclarinet.htm#SNNormandy
But I can only see one number that starts with a B.

Yeah I checked the serials on http://www.clarinetperfection.com/snclarinet.htm#SNNormandy but the last serial listed falls 6000 digits short of my model also the page also states later 80s models features a coiled spring on the C#/G# key but I can clearly see a needle spring on mine. Does anyone know when the last Normandys were made?

THe serial number list is not all inclusive. as the Normandy 4s are still made today .. just a new name of Noblet 4 (or something like that). I forgot when it was changed, but i think a few years ago when Selmer USA was gobbling everyone up.
That coil spring example could have been replaced once again with a needle. It was kinda a stupid idea and i'm sure within a couple years they should have went back to a regular needle.
When i took apart that one clarinet the spring sprung right out. had to search for it. Not a happy repair tech it would make ......
