Hi guys, sorry if this has been posted before, but I think it is a pretty good page with simple clear factual numbers on the amount of orchestral jobs and the amount of competition there is in this country today.

Too me, it seems more indicative of the individual communities financial support of their respective musical venues than "competition". Or is there an ESPN music channel that I am missing on my cable......(?)

What would be really interesting is to see what these salaries amount to in terms of actual purchasing power in the respective cities. The guy making $69,000 playing in the Houston Symphony actually would enjoy a much higher standard of living than somebody making $89,000 in the New York Philharmonic, for instance.
