I just purchased a Ridenour TR-147 for my son on ebay and it came with a Yamaha 2* mouthpiece, instead of the TR-147 mouthpiece. Is it worth complaining about? Also, the case does not hold the clarinet snugly, with the result that the clarinet really rattles around. This strikes me as a problem. (I play flute, not clarinet.) Am I right?
Thanks for your patience with these basic questions!

I would not worry about the mouthpiece. If the case is not good, then try getting a pro tec case. Most clarinets come with no mouthpiece and if they do, it's usually not a great one.

Agreeing with Dave, you could always find a bit of bubble wrap to put in on top of the clarinet so that it will be held more snugly.

Charzev,
I'm not sure what you would be complaining about with the MP. Did it say that the clarinet would be coming with the original MP and now it is different?
I have several 147s and some of the early batches had cases that were not very good. Protec cases are very nice though.
